Financial Aid Guide

Your file is complete once you receive an award notification from the Financial Aid Office through your my.montcalm.edu email account. Without an award notification, be prepared to use your own financial resources when paying your tuition and purchasing books.
Ìý
Priority for Financial Aid will be given to students based on the date of their completed file, so it’s best to apply as soon as possible.
Follow these steps to complete your financial aid file

Apply for Admission

Activate MCC student email account
Your accountÌýwill be your main contact with Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s Financial Aid Office. Financial Aid will send you an e-mail via this account to tell you whether you have received a financial aid award.

Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The helps the financial aid office determine what type of financial aid you are eligible for based on your financial situation. Please use the IRS data retrieval option on the income section and enter MCC's Federal School code.ÌýIf you are aÌýdependent student, then you will also need most of the above information for your parent(s).

To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will need:
- Â鶹¹ÙÍø's Federal School code - 002295
- Your Social Security Number
- If you do not have a Social Security Number, you must contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243.
- Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Your federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note:ÌýYou may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
- Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
- An FSA ID to sign electronically.
- Click if you need help accessing your FSA ID.
- Click if you need to recover your FSA ID.

Submit verification documents to the MCC Financial Aid office
Submit the following verification documents only if they are requested by the Financial Aid Office:

Access NETPARTNER to review status of documents and awards
You may use the Ìýfor your main point of reference concerning your financial aid award and document status.

Apply for student loans
If you wish to receive student loans, follow the Student Loan guide to help you complete your application. Students loans are not mandatory, but they are an option if no other aid is available.

Financial Aid disbursement verification
Instructors will be asked to electronically submit participationÌýinformation to the Financial Aid office two times through each semester.Ìý (This will include on-Â鶹¹ÙÍø and online classes.)

For students reported as ‘Participating’, the Financial Aid office will use the information from the instructors to pay the student aid.Ìý For more details, please see the Financial Aid tab on the .

Due to Federal Regulations, one semester loans must be paid in two separate disbursements.
Ìý
Students will receive an email notification to their MCC student email address, identifying whether a check will be available for pickup or if there has been a change in the student’s eligibility.Ìý Please consistently check your MCC student email.
